The proxy vote issue is a difficult one, and I'm sure that at a previous AGM or EGM they took the opposite view,and allowed an amendment at the meeting.
The only real solution is to have a good debate beforehand, so that the proposal that's finally put will be accepted by the vast majority. Alternatively, we could have a range of options proposed, so that people could vote for the one they prefer, rather than a simple yes/no choice.
I think it might have been better not to have lumped together the change in subscriptions with the change in levies, since from the discussions here I detect no great objection to the former, but a lot of concern about the latter.
