Re: European Orienteering Championships
All medals so far shared by Switzerland, Russia, Norway and Finland. Still no medals for Sweden (although quite a few top 6 places), depsite being in their back garden...

Niggli - out of 25 split times, fastest on 15, 2nd on 5 and 4th on 2 - last 3 splits not that critical - says it all.

So far it's looking good for the Swiss men in the sprint.
But Scott just started, and going well at TV split 1...

Another great run by Claire, 4th at the finish, which means she can't be lower that about 17th, so best result for her so far.

Here's the IOF Event Advisor explaining why she was disqualified (but we all know it's illegal to cross a thick black line already, don't we...

The mess-up over the medal presentation aside, I have to say that the (online) media coverage of EOC2012 has been the best of any international championship that I have watched.

Re: European Orienteering Championships
does anyone know if they are showing the tracking in the arena? Have they managed to hide the changeover / warmup area from the screen?

Re: European Orienteering Championships
The mens relay courses are an interesting mixture of shorter gaffles that crossover in tricky areas and longer identical legs on easier terrain, causing the packs to be continually remixed. Scott Fraser has had an excellent run maintaining the gap behind the leaders to around 2.40 despite being detached from the main pack.
