It looks like the courses were updated after the file I had used for RouteGadget. There are complications due to the map turnover and the way the course file is constructed in Condes with multiple canvases. I'm trying to get hold of the latest version that is also suitable for use in RG.

I've now uploaded a new version of the Stirling RG.
If anyone can do a quick check that it now looks OK and works for them I'd appreciate it. I don't have any printed course maps to check against.
Apparently there is a bug in Condes with multi-canvas course files so it's taken a while to get it sorted.

The map file still looks a bit different e.g over by the train station footbridge, but I would just leave it to be honest as it's only very minor.

Almost impossible to beat Edinburgh and Stirling. You'd need a giant area, technically demanding with great runnability, previously unused for orienteering, with a superaccurate litho-printed map and an iconic castle for an assembly area. If such a thing existed, surely we'd be using it for WOC, not some SOL outside racing season

I enjoyed the races but struggled through tiredness at Stirling. Was very disappointed by IMO sloppy controlling leading to reinstatements which drastically altered the results in some classes. I think we need to be grateful to the complainant who withdrew his protest after being told that the courses would be voided if he went any further. Some high placed people admitted that they never check codes
Stirling castle was brilliant - it made you forget the cock-ups at the start as soon as you picked the map up!
Thanks to all concerned for a good weekend. (To be a great weekend, it had to beat London and Bath for me).
A suggestion to any start team people anywhere - why not have starters standing next to map boxes at timed starts? Saves the possible elbowing

Having only seen the results and maps for the elite men I might be missing something here, but was there some reason why both days were overplanned? I think the courses look excellent but they are clearly too long for sprint races.

I'd call it "great" so far.
Straight into the challenge of Stirling Castle was fantastic. I made mistakes even though trying to be careful.
Anyone on here know how RTC scoring works - positions, points, times, something else ?

This one I do know.

King of the Castles is based on total time over the four main races, Edinburgh, Stirling, Balmoral, Forvie. We have inedible but milk- and porridge-related prizes for the top 3 in each 5-year age group after the Forvie race. I'll leave you to guess

There will also be some "dirty rascal" prizes for juniors who ran elite in Edinburgh/Stirling and age-class in Balmoral & Forvie.

World Ranking Events have prizes for each day.
