Er... I know it's kinda dredging it up again, but I've not heard anything from them yet and I'd like to know what happened to that fiver....

not sure about how the jury deals with each specific case, but from my perspective (results) I've been told they are to stand as they are online, with the legs voided on all courses containing the control.

It's all a bit odd. I was asked to be on the jury but was then stood down as the organisers decided to make their decision, and the jury would only be required if an official protest was then made against this decision. It seems that Lizi Beee made that protest. I have not been contacted.

Something fishy going on here.
A competitor puts in a protest and it looks like the organisers are simply ignoring it. Did a jury sit (without EddieH) or not? Surely there should be some comment on the website?
Please can someone from the organising team explain what has happened. Obviously their own webmaster doesn't even know the whole story.

Whatever solution is adopted in the case of a problem (missing, mis-placed control etc) there will always be some who are better off and some who are worse off. Having come (a long time ago)to orienteering from car rallying, voiding a control in the case of a problem was always used in the latter sport (where all controls were manned - problems usually related to clocks). In those days it was not possible to adopt that solution in orienteering but with e-controls that changed.
We must always make sure that controls are correctly placed and the ability to void must never be an excuse for poor controlling/planning. However if the worst case does arise, for whatever reason, voiding a course in its entirety is discouraging to most - and I suspect especially to newcomers.
I did not understand why the BOF Rules group made the statement of intent which they did and believe the 6-Day approach to be the right one - for all events.

Indeed I got an email from them a few days ago saying it was standing.
