Re: JWOC
Team just returned to base camp after soaking up Aidan's glory on the podium
Aidan's performance today has rounded off a fantastic week for him and seeing him take 4th was a fitting end to his individual races. Alongside this, Sasha also performed solidly to come in the top 50, even though he faded towards the end after giving everything in the energy sapping terrain. Following two days rain, the marshes became absolute quagmires, making it a very physical challenge for all. Will was content with his 56th and this week has stoked the fires for next year's campaign and Dane recovered well from early time losses to finish in good shape for the relays tomorrow.
In the women's race, Helen finished as best Brit in 54th and has taken a lot of positives from her first JWOC as a second year 18. Julie found the going tough, but is looking forward to anchoring the women's A team tomorrow and Meg was going so well at the first radio, before a parallel error on the long leg led to her dropping out of contention.
Relay teams have been finalised on the back of this week's form and fitness and are as follows (in leg order):
Men's A: Sasha Chepelin/Will Rigg/Aidan Smith
Men's B: Matt Elkington/Dane Blomquist/Chris Galloway
Women's A: Megan Carter-Davies/Sarah Jones/Julie Emmerson
Women's B: Hannah Cox/Helen Ockenden/Fiona Bunn

Re: JWOC
Congratulations to Aidan (and his coach )
Fantastic result. The terrain shapes look just like an open fell area in the Lakes such as Pike 'O Blisco (but obviously covered in trees). Such a shame our ancestors cut all the trees down.
