Anyway, I'm dead chuffed that MTBO is rated by Dids as being on a par with alc-O. Certainly a step up in the world from the ranks for 100m - stiletto sprint!

I've always rated Alc-o pretty highly, so don't feel I'm knocking MTB-O by comparing them

I reckon Harry and EBenham should have a race off over the 100m high heel sprint to settle their differences I'll start the prize fund with a tenner.....anyone else want to chip in

Since I started this thread, for a bit of a I've been impressed by the passionate responses of people involved in MTB-O, and the standard of competition is a lot tougher than what I first thought. Especially EBenham when she says she placed top 5 in BUC's in normal MTB racing, big respect. I'm on the verge of being converted....

(And it could be argued what does that say about the training level that is necessary to get into the GB foot-o team?)

But I will not go down that road. I will give him and every other athlete who is trying to reach their potential in whatever sport the respect and support they deserve.

This numbers argument is complete nonsense. On that basis, the current group of GB foot-O M/W21s are totally noddy compared to those of 20 or so years ago, because the size of fields (e.g. British/BUCS-BUSF/JK etc) are tiny compared to then.

I'd just like to say Exile incase you didn't realise that Em has many friends and supporters on this forum as you might deduce from here and some who were very discreet about it too not that she needed any help in the end.

She is infact the only reason I look at MTBO results as I have no other interest in the sport.

As for the tendency to disrespect others of similar ability - in my observation it almost always comes down to insecurity - as I suspect do some of those entries on attackpoint - again discretion may be the better policy rather than over stating your case - which is obviously the reason why I don't post my world class gardening hours on it - I wouldn't like to make all those Australians feel uncormfortable
