To be honest, this is my (very limited) experience at modern visitors centres.

It's just a barmy idea, but if the centres or better still, the poorly paid staff, received a decent level of commission for every map they sold, I'd bet they would make more effort promoting them.

Occasional new members joining might be useful. 5 new members a year would make a big difference to our club and once a POC is constructed the effort/new member generated ratio might compare favourably with an average C5 or C4 event.

Assuming that's the end of this thread, thanks for your help, some interesting ideas here.
