If that's the case, why do we never get many people turning up whenever we put on a night event?!

night o suddenly that bumps the price up a wee bit! at over £100 for a decent headtorch means we only have one good one so dont all go cos we cant all run...

middle dist as my fav distance though... short enough to still be flat out but with a few more longer technical legs...

You don't have to have a powerful headtorch, and indeed when it's as foggy as it was on Sat night it makes no difference whatsoever having one.

I prefer shorter races, either sprints which are great fun and often have a brilliant atmosphere, but my absolute favourites are short/middle races on runnable, intricate forested areas.

also i love night O, whether score or course!

Middle are the best races but the atmosphere at sprints can make them a much more enjoyable run.

I would suggest that the orienteering enthusiasts who contribute to this site represent only a small percentage of those who turn up for a typical Sunday morning event. The average orienteer has no interest in night orienteering whatsoever.
