yep, well done to OD, good to see the competition a lot closer than last year's final with the top 3 teams all withing 23 points, and some pretty close results between 4th, 5th and 6th as well. thanks to SELOC for a good event.

anyone have any thoughts on the positioning of the run-in/tent layout. it seemed to cause a bit of confusion with people running down the run-in getting caught in group's of people just chatting (who were also standing in the run-in). i know there was limited space, but surely that could have been avoided.

i think the planner did well with the brown course, was definitely a tight fit to get anything over 8km out of it (though could've done without that climb up to 8/15 twice!)

I think in principle the run-in through the club tents was brilliant. However, there was just not enough gap between the edge of the track and the tents, with the inevitable problems of runners and club team mates clashing! Perhaps a double row of tents on the left (as you ran in) and none on the right would have helped the situation? Good atmosphere though,and the mighty OD triumphant!!

Agree. The confusion might have been avoided with the use a couple of dozen traffic cones and two lines of tape. It didn't need too wide a run in, but it did need a clean view of the finish line.

The other thing would have been to put the finish banner on a simple gantry; a couple of ten foot poles! That way you could see where the finish boxes were. However, as you had spent some time in the club tents anyway you knew exactly where the finish line was.

Quite a few people discussed beforehand what would happen if anyone was in the way when they got on the run in! Shapening up their elbows! When I finished I got a clean run in all to myself, and a great deal of noise from the club group on the sidelines, and that is what it is all about, yea?

Good event. Yes, there were a lot of folk out there and a few running on my line at various times, but it should have the flavour of a relay. I would advocate the start interval reducing to 30 seconds. Get the competitors out there quicker and get the event over quicker. Make it more compact and increase the excitement. Effectively the random start list gives the separation that is needed.
