Out of interest does anyone know why were there so many disqualifications? Was it just mispunching or cards not registering?

yep, that was Sarum! SBOC 2nd and ERYRI 3rd - what about SWOC? are they not a small club?
I think we did go out in 2nd place, but less than a minute ahead, rather than 2 mins. It was all really close. We got 1 min knocked off the time of our yellow runner.

This seems to be a problem with the EMIT results in that anyone who was disqualified doesn't appear in the split times section, so there is no way of knowing what all the reasons for disqualification where. Does anyone know how to find out ?

By the time the SARUM maps had been sorted out and Lucy started, the OD team were well on their way round leg 5. Both she and the leading OD runner have similar overall leg times, which suggests that probably at least 2 minutes were taken off the SARUM time, and that OD did go off in 2nd place.

I'd just like to point out that Chris is an M16 who has never had any national coaching, but had an excellent run(for him) to do 6.2km in 48mins with a selection of bingo-type controlls and some thick green. Incindently a very similar time to Jessica Halliday who regularly kicks ass as a second year 18.
Well done all of the HOC team!
And well done everyone else, too!

From my brief look at the map there seemed to be several in the forested area - particularly those on small thickets when I'm told there were many more than were marked - but to be fair I wasn't out there, so I could be way off.

One thing that intrigued me: for both Leg 3 and Leg 6 there appeared to be one course that was a fair bit faster than the other. These legs also shared gaffling for the first half (i.e. there were two first halves, one done by leg 3 and one by leg 6, with single shorter second half for all leg 3s and single longer second half for all leg 6s). Was there in fact any difference, or is it just coincidence?
Incidentally, as an outside reader, I didn't read the comments as a negative reflection on Chris's performance: the fact that Andy and David caught that time up on Chris says more about the quality of their own runs (around 5 m/km) than anything else. Pretty hot!
