I don't recall it having any fewer participants than the other (long) days, or did it? So as part of a multiday race series, people will accept (or prefer even?) a middle race.
The middle day (Day 3) had the most pre-entries at 5055 with the fewest on day 6, 4592.
Day 1 - 4933 (Non particpants - 365) 93%
Day 2 - 4939 (Non particpants - 359) 93%
Day 3 - 5055 (Non particpants - 243) 95%
Day 4 - 4890 (Non particpants - 408) 92%
Day 5 - 4796 (Non particpants - 502) 91%
Day 6 - 4592 (Non particpants - 706) 87%
Days 2 & 5 usually have fewer particpants due to 4 days counting and people only wanting to do 4 days. Day 6 has fewer as people want to go home early.
