Good idea I thought. Mrs. Merlot has got the tactics right. Then Hummells gets rested in the second half and scores a whopping 6 points as my captain.

Thanks for the tip. Didn't realise you could swap captain once they had played. Hummels to Robben for me to.

If only I had picked Kroos as the captain last night instead of Hummels.

Does the 3rd/4th play-off match score points (as well as the Final)? It looks like the Dutch and Brazilian players aren't "greyed out" in the transfers page.

Edit: Brazil v Netherlands is shown on the fixtures tab, so it must count.

...and the players haven't disappeared off the "My Team" pitch - but it doesn't mention the play off in the rules.

I believe that the 3rd/4th play-off match and final are deemed to be in the same round and that player/captain substitutions can therefore be made as usual. As I'll be up a peak somewhere in the Lake District, this won't help me much!

Round 7 runs from 12-13 July and comprises the play-off for the third place and the final match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.

Mmmm but I think that selections in the play-off is going to be so difficult to call.
