Nopesport Urban League 2013 (speculation & griping)

Screw convention, Edinburgh is getting two outings in the 2013 league

Not many early races next year, not sure why that gap in the calendar has appeared, but will have the full list of races for you all as a Christmas present...

LOK's Hampstead Village Urban Race on 27 April has been confirmed as a Nopesport Urban League 2013 race in LOK's most recent newsletter. Hampstead Village should make for a great urban event - & unlike the "other" London City Race, it has hills!

I'd assume not, it's historically had too many people and therefore classes to fit into the scoring system. Maybe things will be different this year, though.

I've not heard anything about London's inclusion in the NUL for 2013. Yes I suspect it is probably because our classes don't match the NUL template.

Only Isle of Dogs / parks for shortest courses, so which course may venture into Canary Wharf?

Details will be worked out later in the year, but we are aiming to have all courses except the Junior/Childrens ones have at least a short section in the Wharf, except possibly Women's Ultravets, and at this stage we are hopeful of that too.

For the record, Hampstead Village isn't confirmed as Nopesport League yet- the newsletter should have said "potential"... Although I'd like it to be so!

The St Alban's City Race is the day after Hampstead Village, on the 28th April. Should make a good double header, whether or not Hampstead has NUL status!

BOF fixtures page currently has these events listed as Nopesport Urban League for 2013:

9 Feb HALO Cleethorpes Country Park (maybe a typo?)
15 Jun SELOC Salford & Manchester (Level B) (Horwich sprint the day after)
8 Sep BOK Bristol (UWE sprint the day before)

Cleethorpes Country Park is exactly what it says on the tin - a Country Park! Typo!!
Provisionally I am hoping that Hull Old Town & Marina will be included (Sunday 21st July) the day after the Yorkshire Sprint Champs (Prologue & Chase) at Hull University - I'm planning - and I can guarantee some multi-level mayhem

Seriously though, with, we are led to believe, the first round scheduled in less than a week, the schedule is now horribly overdue. So, almost a fortnight after my last query, any news from Nopesport?

Fair enough, but we've reached a point where we are less than one week away from what it has been suggested (but not formally) is the first round, and we still have had not a word, other than an informal posting that the calendar would be published as a 'Christmas present', i.e. some weeks ago.

Without knowing the ins and outs, If organisers are being slow, maybe they are not that bothered about being included, and should not be? I can think of several races who've not been included in the past at various times, who would love to be on the calendar.

In the meantime, the Yorkshire Urban League yet again looks to have some star races in it.
