An "incentive scheme" certificate for your performance in a world championship?

Who knows. I do plenty of orienteering and magically get both a Navigation Award (for turning up and completing a course) and a Bronze Award - both of the 5* category only 1 week later.

I was just putting 2+2 together.

I wonder how long has the scheme been running?

Since the start of this year I think. There's some information on the British Orienteering website http://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/page/incentives

Straying even further off topic, has anybody noticed how awful the search engine on the British Orienteering website has become? It never used to be much good, but at least it came up with pages relating to British Orienteering, although rarely the one I wanted. Now it just seems to be an inferior version of Google's worldwide web search.

Yes it is bad, I think it changed about 3 months ago. Try looking for "AGM" for example.
