Quite a few M/W18s were not available due to exam commitments. 1 week later and most exams would be finished. Is there a reason why the JIRCs can't be moved back a week?

Yes, that would be in the Scottish school holidays when a lot of people go away to avoid the crowds. (Also this year a clash with EYOC for the lucky ones).The Scotland team would be weakened considerably. There just won't be a time when it could be held to suit all regions and ages. Last year's 'experiment' of JHIs one weekend and JIRCs the next in September was worse. I think we have to accept that it will never work for all.

Before Universities start and outside exam season

June has to be almost the worst time of year, probably Xmas day could only be worse!
Peak exam time for Y10, Y11, Y12 & Y13

It's ridiculous - not only is the JIRCS in peak exam season, next year there will be no senior team at World Schools because it's at the start of exam season, and EYOC is 23rd-26th June which is still in exam season. Who determines the timings of these events?

The JIRC's are a British event and therefore it would make sense to avoid English and Scottish exams.

World Schools and EYOC are hardly our remit. it is our education system that is radically out of kilter with most of Europe. Mind you having Scottish and English holidays so different is a huge benefit for Scots wanting to holiday at lower prices.
