But still to come for Halden: three more WOC medallists plus Lundanes. Theirs to lose? Perhaps a bit early yet...

Airila brought Kalevan Rasti back from 28th to 3rd, but was still 1 second slower than Nordberg...

Roger never liked running in rain with glasses - add headlamp glare, and it'll be even worse. Ouch.

Re: Jukola/Venla
I really ought to go to bed, particularly as I am home alone with the children (Liz was doing the Venla), but I am too excited by the outstanding performances by SYO and particularly Scotland. Can they keep it up?

Excellent surge from Doug - Hector has gone out in 26th, only 21secs down on 20th.

Re: Jukola/Venla
I have to admit, one of the things I enjoy most about these big TV-covered events is the schadenfreude of watching far better orienteers than me making big mistakes over the TracTrac. I'm currently taking cruel pleasure in watching the Göteberg fourth-leg runner who has gone walkabout on his way to his first control - last seen some distance from the control and headed in the opposite direction

Right, I'm just going to stay up for long enough to see who has made the best route choice on the long leg to 9. Then bed. Honest.

Re: Jukola/Venla
Haldin-Wingstedt-Lundanes vs. Adamski-Hertner-Gueorgiou?
Edit: except that Kalevan Rasti just seem to have made a very big error.
Edit edit: sleep.

TV coverage is down, and there is a gremlin with the 4.2 check. Time for bed, I think.
Good luck Scotland and SYO and all the other GB teams

heh, ralph and murray running very very close together at 1st/2nd intermediate, the Scots could do with more of a gap with GG going last, gogo murray!

Re: Jukola/Venla
Murray came in before Ralph to give Scotalnd a slight lead. Spongy took a few more minutes out of rob to hand over a lead of over 16 minutes. As I write Scotlan, Oleg, have an 10 minute lead over SYP, GG. Go Scotland go!
They have about 5kms to go!

Oleg brings Scotland home in 44th. GG late surge to get 46th for SYO. Meanwhile, Jon D and Scotia had a real fight to get 14th and 15th for their respective teams.
