the decision on new rules only publicised a couple of weeks ago

The new rule was publicised in the December issue of Focus (pg 27).

But the only reason it was really noticed was that the Fabian BNC entry form clearly pointed out the rule change. We queried with the organiser whether it was a mistake - and it went from there. The entry forms for BOC etc did not spell the rule change out, although accept it was on the flyer.
Starting to now realise how many people this rule change affects.

There’s no point in acting all surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders have been on display at your local planning department in Alpha Centauri for fifty of your Earth years so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaints and its far too late to start making a fuss about it now.

MANKIND:
[Louder yells of protest]

VOGON CAPTAIN:
What do you mean you’ve never been to Alpha Centauri? Oh for heaven sake mankind it’s only four light years away you know! I’m sorry but if you can’t be bothered to take an interest in local affairs that’s your own regard. Energise the demolition beams! God I don’t know…apathetic bloody planet, I’ve no sympathy at all…

British Championship Eligability Update
The Board is aware of a number of concerns that have been expressed regarding the rules for eligibility to be a British Champion. It is the intention of the Board to review the rules later this year.
The Board is clear that the rules must be able to be enforced and that volunteers staging British Championships should not be placed in a position where they are asked to make difficult decisions regarding eligibility on the day of the championship.
If changes are agreed they will come into effect on 1 January 2013, in the meantime the current eligibility rules will continue to be used through the British Championships staged during 2012.

Will you be running the Campionati Italiani?

Yes I will run at the Champs - competitively or not tbd.

My Club are having the eligibility rules checked but for them it is for the relay (surprisingly I am in the top 3 of the M45s in the club), however, I may have to be an Italian citizen to avoid the team becoming nc - I'll let you know what FISO says. I finished on the podium at Firenze on Sunday in the first test of the national historic centre trophy (sounds much better than NUL methinks!) and was given the medal but suspect the national champs will be different.

You have to be an Italian Citizen to be competitive at National Champs as it turns out - even Srollins' sister-in-law who has been here 20 years is non-comp.
