Agreed. Some of us also have to sort out work and things as far in advance as we can! (I think I've managed to agree cover for Edinburgh, but only because it's well in hand). I'm already negotiating dates next autumn!

I'd like to add my thanks to Roger for organising the NOPE League and for providing such excellent analysis, statistical and verbal. I've thoroughly enjoyed this season's league runs and Sheffield was a fitting and exciting finish. Now that urban racing has become so popular I am resigned to finishing further down the results than I did when it was a little known excitement nurtured in York by Mr Whitehead (no doubt someone will put me right on that one). Mrs H now has one year to get to grips with supervet before we once again lock dibbers (I hope it doesn't mean I have to wait a year for apres run drinks though )

Just wanted to add my thanks to Roger for the great work in scoring the leagues. And wow, it really was very close in the Mens Vet category!

I'm also keen to get the Nopesport Urban League 2010 fixtures in the diary as soon as possible.

Could we have a full / partial list off all NOPESPORT Urban Leage 2010 Qualifying events when known so we can plan ahead?
Also, could we a; have more events in the league, spread around the country
b; have more events to count so those that make the effort to compete in more get to win?
Even a Partial list of events that are certain, for the first half of 2010 will help.

Although I expect I'd lie to attend plenty of Urban races in 2010; I and others will be concentrating on those that are part of this League.

is that how you define competition? so that the winner is not the person who is best at what you are doing but the person with the most free time and the most money to pump petrol into their car?

In the past, the selected events were those for which Up & Running were willing to provide sponsorship / prizes. This isn't limitless, unfortunately. (And nor is my time.)

Given the country-wide spread, I think that 50% counting (rounded down if there's an odd number of races) is about right. Not many people will run even that many, and it would be a shame if the final standings over-weighted the possession of the time and the money to travel the country at the expense of competitive ability.
