A few years ago the drive from Gothenburg to Kiruna in early October took myself and a five other xc skiers 24 hours non stop in a minibus (stopped for fuel only). Would love to go again by air in the summer - perhaps to the Oringen or one of the other events highlighted in this thread. Thanks to all for reminding me that Northern Sweden and Norway have so much to offer the O enthusiast. 
After a month at Kiruna and Narvik we drove back via the Norwegian coast (over four glorius days of winter driving) and enjoyed xc skiing in Trondheim etc.
