I think I'm right in that, for SI, there's a space on the card reserved for the finish punch.

I guess that knocks my idea on the head then. Sounds like a weakness in SI's data model...

I'd say there are errors in both emit and SI data models given the above discussion. Depends on the event and the rules really.

It all stems from trying to fit as much as possible onto one SI card.

Presumably solved on a course which doesn't have too many controls by making the finish a normal punch rather than a finish punch.

I've been known to have to do that before, but for other reasons.

Most of the software we use at O events in the uk will require a finish punch rather than a control (I think)
