Taking an early lead is Les escargots et les grenouilles from duncan, over 100 points clear of brooner's Nope Chance. Together with the third-placed Maprunner Also-rans from Maprunner and fourth-placed Pooleys All Stars from pooley these had picked both M21E and W21E JK winners, Daniel Hubman and Elise Egseth.

Who's going to be the smartest with the substitutions before the next round of races??!

Even with a record 61 teams in this year's "Compass Point" Fantasy UK Cup, entries are still open for anyone who was waiting to see the early-season form . With 7 races left in the 2008 series, there's still plenty of time to score some points.

Just an apology to those who used the contact form on the ukcup website before the JK to ask questions or to let me know of runners they wanted added to the database. Due to an oversight on my part the emails with topic "fantasy ukcup" were going to an account that I wasn't monitoring, and the expected copies to my usual account were simply disappearing.

For those who explicitly specified that they had selected a placeholder then I have replaced these with the requested runner. The standings have therefore changed slightly (e.g. Jon's Jokers up to 4th).

For the others then I can only say that I have now hopefully sorted out the technical problems and will try and do better next year (or just put in an option to allow you to add new runners yourself)!

Okay - i can see i need to make some substitutions - how does it work? How many subs can i bring in at any one time - is it just 2? If so and i substitute 2 runners for the race next Saturday can I substitute another 2 for the race on sunday (my team is that crocked) Or will i be working too fast for the system?- or can i declare some advanced substitutions to come in over night sat/sun - or am i taking this too seriously? Or is it possible to take it too seriously?

Total of two subs for the series, which I think answers your first question(s). This may change for next year.

Substitutions cannot currently be scheduled using the online system but will occur overnight, so if you make the subs early Saturday morning or late Saturday evening they will take effect for the Sunday.

I guess if it was really important then I could manually enter substitutions to take effect at some point in the future, but I was hoping that the system will take care of itself as much as possible...
