"" "we will not be allowing departues from the evnt until 13.00" - so if i am camping, and want to nip to the shop (probably about 5 miles away), I cant drive out anytime in the morning to get my paper / milk for breakfast, until 13.00? ""
Maybe it would be wiser to bring some milk and a cool box or go in the evening to the shop? and surely wilfs will be doing breakfast food? Its pretty much because the road going in and out is pretty narrow and there next to none i think passing points
"" "there will be a strict speed limit of 10mph" - so I assume marshalls will be there with speed cameras to enusre this is enforced - or do i assume correctly that this is unenforceable? ""
This is probably, as adventure racer said, self impossed but when u think about all the juniors running around care free and all the runners going to starts you would probably be wise to keep your speed down.
"" Tarmac roads marked with a red X are out of bounds but you may run along the verges to a safe crossing point" - so there you are running along the grass verge and you come across a bush in front of you that extends the full width of the verge.. if the woodland to one side is overgrown/fight, what do you do - as supposedly you cannot run on the tarmac to get round?
Assuming the roads in question are small, single track, relatively wuiet as they do not go anywhere in particular, isnt anywhere 'safe' to cross, afterall, 'competitors compete at their own risk' ""
As i've already been on this road as organiser for the team score, you would be wise to go near the road. Think it does lead somewhere, although I am unsure where to and cars that use it generally dont drive that slow, and the planner would have probably planned all the courses so you dont need to run down the road so unless your lost or retiring then there probably no need to go along it.
Good Luck and hope people enjoy the White Rose, whatever the weather

unfortunately not.
was certainly an excellent and enjoyable event, but for me the road issues seemed a little vague

WR great event, I was expecting the worst concerning the undergrowth but didn't get a nettle sting or a bramble scratch all weekend.
Thanks to the organisers a good competition, good maps, pleasant atmosphere. Even the gods were on our side with the weather.

WAs certainlly effected by the "can I/can''t I" use the road on Day 2. It would have saved 25 minutes slogging through a huge bit of grotty forest!! Seemed rather an unfair leg, was on most senior courses, as several people like me assumed you weren't allowed to use the road as there were red crosses at the beginning of it. Seems like more fool me!
