I have to say it was with great relief that I read this post.
I was beginning to get worried that we would have a whole thread with only positive comment and no digs at BOF whatsoever.
If you could run forever ......

Dear Mr. Kitchin,
It is with great regret that I write to inform you that you have not been selected for the JWOC team. It was a very difficult decision, but after considering a number of factors, in you case age and failure to appear at the selection races in Oban, the selectors decided that your case was not sufficiently strong to select you.
I apologise again for what must be a great disappointment to you, and hope you will be more successful in future,
BOF Selector.

I happen to agree with Hocolite on this one. Very much so. I know it is difficult for them to decide where to draw the line for communication to borderline athletes but there was some BLATENT mistreatment last year.

I have got on with it thank you. I just hope that they learnt from it like hoc said, and didn't deliver slap in the face style.

didsco - i hear tom hart has offered to give party advice too, so you'll probably be out of a job. however the israeli team coach is rumoured to be attempting to censor any advice from the pocket dynamo.

But there's a whole week between JWOC and the O-Ringen unless I am very much mistaken . . .I am watching JWOC and then heading across Europe for the O-Ringen. Haven't decided how to do it yet - may take a slight detour since there's a whole week to do it in.
