there is lots of happiness in the uwoc camp (despite most of our teams being dsq today!!)

thanks to nope dudes for entertainment and louise for doing the beer race and explaining to me what's a bitter and what's a lager

thanks to gg for putting more effort into busa than into the 3 years of his degree course

just seen the results, did anymore teams want to get dsq'd? jesus, thats just nuts, whats the reason? not that there should be any excuse for mispunching, but odd that so many teams should be.

hats off to MC, done a good job of captaining, and surely gave some threat to his boys as to what they might face if they got dsq'd!

ShUOC2 was Hargreaves, Sellens, Northrop
ShUOC3 was Little, Dickinson, Findlay-Robinson.

well, what a busa to miss. individual just 5 mins drive from my house, excellent social, etc, and the result!

to be fair we were there pissing ourselves as well as team after team came in to be dsq'd, would have been quite amusing (well, sort of ) if our girls team had been as well as it looked like at one stage. you can only laugh at times like that really. There's a lot of club fines going to be dished out for all the mp's yesterday thats for sure!!!

but well done to warwick & od for a fantastic busa, i think it was a great weekend all round, and well done to shouc for their victory - bring on the next showdown, hopefully the uni clubs can take over some more relay podiums this season.

needless to say, its a safe bet that there's we'll be using SI at busa next year although there was talk of pin punching returning .

Aye cheers for a good weekend, shuoc had a frightening team well done to them and ouoc who seem to be still improving. Probably the best busa ive been to out of the last 4 years tho the appearance of Joykok at the busa social in sheffield 2 years ago is definitely hard to beat. The EUOC banter for one was second to none- thanks particularly to big kaz for singing us home and some dodgy lyric changes to gary glitter at the social.

Cant wait for the EUOC free mispunch club round night- can we have it after the exams since itll take me that long to get rid of the shakes caused by my destroyed liver from saturday?

I think it should be remembered that although BUSA was, and normally is, dominated by a handful of Universities there are a number of other Uni's who are there and although may not compete for the top spots are still an integral part of the atmosphere and general fun created at this event. It gives people, who may not normally have, the opportunity to compete directly against internationals and the sense of belonging to a team and not a mere individual.

Congratulations obviously to the 'winners' but also to Universities who are present at BUSA every year with a new crop of new orienteers who hopefully get as much enjoyment from it as the more established Uni's.
