The Museum of London was right by the HQ for the London race in 2011 (first one I did) and we enjoyed visiting the Museum after our races - well worth a visit.
So could be The Barbican again this year.

Anyone able to help me out with an explanation of the score/relay event on Saturday at Porto? I've entered the score event (I think!) but cant make head nor tail of the instructions.

Re: City Race Euro Tour
Can see what you mean. My interpretation is that it's a score event where if you get all 30 controls you would get a maximum of 1000 points. You get penalised if you are late, and you also get penalised if you get over 1000 - but on the latter I think this would happen only if you go to one control more than once (which isn't allowed).

Go to any of the controls, but no more than 30, and each one only once. Score as close as possible to 1000 (but don't score more than 1000). Do that as quickly as possible, but don't be more than 1h30m.
I'm not going to Porto, but have entered for Barca.

My interpretation is the same as Spookster's; looks like being a good test of memory and arithmetic, as well as running and navigation.

It all depends on how seriously you want to take it. I intend to run round for a while and will see how I do.

Re: City Race Euro Tour
Has anyone seen any start times or final details for Porto yet, please? And having tried to navigate the public transport web sites, it would also be nice to know how to get to the events that aren't in the city centre. Start tines were supposed to be published yesterday, according to the web site.

Re: City Race Euro Tour
My take on the score is as per Spookster. Collect 1000 points as quickly as possible. Controls have varying points. Repeat visits to a control are discarded. But exceeding 1h 30m will result in a penalty. (But that seems unlikely to be a problem on a 1:5000 map!)
Agree need pen and exam pass.
No start times visible, guess we will need to go to the event centre on Friday in Museum of Photography. Andante 72 hour card at the airport looks a good bet (15 euro). Not sure if 3 days or literally 72 hours from first use.

Re: City Race Euro Tour
Turns out spookster was spot on. Most people had trouble with the mental arithmetic and also the number of controls visited. Try keeping a note of that in your head and then pace counting on top of that!
Seems the best idea was to do it as a pair with one person doing the counting...
