I'm guessing those girls DNS, seeing as they haven't got to radio 1 yet. The live results might have gone down earlier, but they don't seem to miss people out as far as I can tell.

Sandrine Meuller was 11 secs ahead of Lucy with 200m to go, but has not yet appeared on the final results.

Looks like podium for Lucy, fantastic!
Well done to Florence, Charlotte, Jamie and Jonnie and as well - all top 30 - not easy with 6 from each country.

Sounds like one of my runs (apart from the "lead" bit") - 15 minutes lost on 1 or 2 legs.
16 minutes lost on one control - oops!

Lucy just missed the podium, but 7th is excellent!

And as an example of PR best practice here is a very professional looking press release that Orienteering Canada have already managed to produce off the back of Emily Kemp's third place:

JWOC Middle Qualification today, and the heats are underway. Good luck Team GB! Top 20 from each heat through to Final (which is about the top third of the field).

Re: JWOC 2012
Looks like 3 of the 6 women go through (Lucy, Charlotte, and Rona) and 3 of the 6 men (Jonny, Jamie, and Duncan who went through in 20th, just 0.5 seconds inside 21st
).
Another great run by Emily Kemp from Canada winning her heat pretty convincingly. Another medal for her in the Final? (like buses, you wait ages for one to come along, etc).

Re: JWOC 2012
Whilst Canada may have been waiting for ages, Emily Kemp moved to St Etienne to study and has been training with the French national team for the last 2 years. That's not waiting, that's going out there and doing.

Kemp is no surprise to most of us. She showed promise at an early age and has committed 100% to being an orienteer. She's worked hard and it is paying off. Well done to her. And congrats on the 3 and 3 brits that qualified. Comiserations to those that didn't - you can do next year (look at Jamie as an example).

Middle results should be rounded down to completed seconds (and I expect they will be in the official results), so Duncan could have been a whole second slower and still qualified in =20th place.

Well done to those who qualified, especially Lucy, who's obviously in great form.
You only have to look at the results at POM this year to see Emily's talent. Hopefully she does it again in the final.
