I'd recommend deconflicting the 2 excellent events so we can do both

Fixtures, schmixtures...

We tried to avoid the LAMM last year for our SOL but this meant turnout wasn't great because it was the week after the Scottish Champs. Unless you go into late June and risk losing people to early summer holidays, conflicts are always going to occur at this time of year. Just to confuse matters the LAMM date isn't always known when the SOL schedule is decided. Can't always assume the LAMM is second weekend in June.

The mapper was the OS BTW (Courses available on RouteGadget) though there were some corrections in a few places. Not sure the planner (who made the corrections) can be held too responsible for errors in the OS map across an area of 400 sq km.

Also need to bear in mind that the nav has to be doable in poor vis (which it wasn't - blistering sunshine most of the time).

[Freefall]

One of the best LAMMs in recent years with glorious sunshine and few midges. Yes it rained for 5 hrs but that was on Saturday afternoon after most runners made it to the campsite. Fantastic sunset and alpenglow on the hills then a stunning sunrise. Pity I only saw it as a helper/spectator. Rory ran poor Dave into the ground (they were 13th on the Score) but thanks to him for taking over. I did notice a few of our regular orienteers were taking a very laid back approach to the whole event?
