Thats not entirely true, Ive seen some of the insanely fast MTBO ers clean up every control in some of the NYMBO trailquests.
Taking every chance I can to plug things we at Chasers are doing an MTBO line event in a few weeks time at Stafford MOD which should be pretty interesting so hopefully youre coming to that one too?
First event tomorrow. Can I enter any colour category ?

I got an email at the end of the 2010, politely requesting me not to renew my membership until I was planning to do an event. Bit harsh I thought considering there's hardly any events in Scotland anyway - put me right off MBO!
I need to explain this. BMBO pay an insurance premium based off the number of members. Free asociate members as well as full members cost the same premium. The asociate members pay extra for event entry but it takes about two events worth of this to cover the premium. People doing just one event a year are efectivly being subsidised but if it gets them trying MBO then that is considered good. It is not so good though to subsidise someone just renewing there asociate membership but not actualy doing any events in the year.

Hello Graham - how did you enjoy your blue today -congratulations on getting round but i'm disappointed to have lost your competition on the green - but then again after 82 minutes out last night I possibly wasn't at my best today (not so much bracken but a fair amount of brambles but very enjoyable never the less I thought)

Thanks for the explanation Ifor. Possibly BMBO should put that on their emails?
However, if they still send me the event update emails even if I cant renew, then I dont really mind.

Woohoo ! 3rd from last in well over double the time of the winner.
And that's with local knowledge as well. A couple of times I came out of the woods on to a track and knew exactly where I was on the map without checking, simply because I was less than 1km from home and had walked that track a thousand times before.
Winsplits is interesting isn't it ? I've been looking at my results on there, I was round about 40th for most of the route until I missed CP14 and wasted about 20 minutes searching in the wrong place until I went back to a known land mark and started again. It's all learning though.
I enjoyed it, so I'll be having another go to see if I can improve and it's given me some motivation to run more to try to increase my pace and endurance.
IkeySol, I've looked at the BMBO event list before and they always seem to be miles away, up North. If there's one in Staffordshire, I'll probably do it.
