Yeah, GPS coverage of this area doesn't seem to be very good.
Scotia is going very well indeed through the first few controls - he's caught Novikov - but looking at the GPS JD seems to be having some problems.

Is Oli going to get caught by Gonon? It'll be close...
He's doing OK though. Tough being on his own the whole way.

Held him off! Well done Oli!
I'm sure that'll be good enough.
Now for JD.

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
JD seems to be recovering well from early blip - up to 7th now.
Scotia right up there in 3rd at the moment 7s behind Hertner.
Good runs from Helen P and Pippa too, Helen B looks like losing out.

Scotia, Pippa, Helen P all through, Oli probably. JD is going to be close, one way or the other.

His main challanger for 15th is about a minute or so behind him - JD had a good last 2 sections tho so fingers crossed.

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
Storming runs from Thierry and Gonon, and solid from Adamski - is this finally going to be France's year in the relay?

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
I was just thinking the same - theyve already picked up a Sprint medal outside of those 3 - what a strong squad!

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
5 out of 6 again
Scott 4th Oli 11th JD 15th
Pippa 6th Helen P 8th Helen B 22nd
Good set of results. Interesting to see the different route choices from 12 to 13 on the Men's courses. Scott went round, JD and Oli over the top. Wonder what the splits will show?
Nice to see 2 Irish qualifiers. Niamh O'Boyle was 12th in Heat 3, Nicolas Simonin 14th, just ahead if JD

On the other hand, the Swiss have Lauenstein, Merz and Hertner each third in their heat today, plus the sprint gold medallist (Mueller), plus Hubmann... The relay should be an exciting one to watch
- and it's good to see two such strong teams from non-Scandi countries.

In heat 2 Pihl and Lind were together leaving 12. Lind went over, Pihl went round, and they got to 13 at the same time...

Re: WOC 2010 Trondheim
Just saw JD's result from long qualification, that was an amazing comeback from the man. Losing 7 mins on the first 3 controls, then pulling it back, talk about fighting attitude! After no.3 he had the same pace as all the top guys except Lundanes + Gonon. nice one!

...and looking at the tracking, he was still making small mistakes after no 3 as well.
The guy must be fit. I just hope he hasn't taken too much out of himself and his early start in the Final won't be too much of a disadvantage.
Good luck JD (and all the others) tomorrow.
