Yardley, Northampton, this Sunday, organised by BAOC.
Any ideas on who is going to win? Can DEE beat AIRE this year or will another club sneak in. Can anyone (Allan F?) say how many teams are entered this time?
Apart from the football, volleyball and tug of war competition there is also a O relay race the next day.
A small prize is offered to the person who makes the most correct predictions of the winners of the football, volley , TOW ,YBT and Joan George Trophy. (ie max 5). Post your predictions here and collect your prize at the event (See anyone from MDOC and ask for me). Postings need to be in by 6pm on Saturday.

Yes it would, hence my sort of question to Allan at BAOC, but he's probably doing more important things.
The ones I know of are MDOC (2 teams), DEE, AIRE, NOC but there must be others. Let's hope people who are going put their clubs names in the hat then we can start making predictions.
My prediction is;
Football; DEE
Volleyball; MDOC
TOW; MDOC so long as they can use their drivers to add weight (that's me not you Liz).
YBT; DEE
Joan George; MDOC

great race with the lead changing hands multiple times and AIRE winning. Good sleep, great breakfast and thanks to Allan and all his team.
Shame about the football; maybe in future an e mail to team managers would have brought forward a volunteer team to organise tournament without the organisers having to take that on too? I'd have been prepared to help on that basis, but it was a bit too late once all the teams were there.
Some great junior night teams on show. British Orienteering should be justifiably proud of its juniors. A good showcase for the sport at its best.
Next year?

I think the casualty rate is usually pretty high at the PPJR. A high number of inexperienced night orienteers and relative new comers experiencing the pressures of big relays for the first time are going to make mistakes. All our runners got round and no-one had any disasters over and above the odd bit of al fresco vomiting due to odd eating times:?
all in all as a driving parent who hates to loose sleep i must say that (after the benefit of a two hour nap and a glass of the usual while the roast cooks) it was an entirely enjoyable experience
