From SROC website:
The Whitbarrow National Event has now been rescheduled for Sunday March 11TH 2007 . The Event will be a WRE – World Ranking Event . There will also be a Short Race on Saturday 10th March which LOC will be organising which will complement the Sunday National Event – See LOC Website nearer the time for details .
The Whitbarrow Event is currently closed to any new entries . Competitors who entered the cancelled 2006 event are automatically reentered into the 2007 event . If you have gone up an age category then this has now been altered by ourselves based on your Date Of Birth information , so you will now be in your new class .
If competitors do not wish to be reentered into the new event then they should send a SAE to Dave Hargreaves , 1 Neare Meadow , Clayton Le Woods , Chorley , Lancs . PR6 8UF . The refund will be £4 per adult and £2 per junior .
If there are sufficient competitors who cancel their entries and ask for a refund then we will reopen the event to new entries based on a first come basis . This will be advised on our website but it is unlikely to be before the New Year .
We reserve the right to vary the Car Parking Fee in order to recoup unavoidable double expenditure
How can this event be a WRE and part of the UK Cup if entries are not open to anyone?

Yep.... agree entirley.... BOF have screwed up giving the event WRE staus under these conditions....
(but actually I don't think it'll make any difference to anyone at the end of the day & I'm sure if someone is really caught out then they'll get a run)

Hi
An update in respect of this, that I am negotiating with SROC the organising club at present, will be made widely available in the next 7 to 10 days.
I have already been contacted by representaives of both the elite and juniors.
Any further speculation will not be helpful.
If anyone would like to contact me about this, please do so.
Thanks

Whitbarrow Nat Event (and UK Cup)
Thanks Peter for your reply.
I thought the situation might be under control but I'd thought I'd raise the issue just in case.
Hopefully there will also be an opportunity for those who did enter last year to change class.

Peter,
Ah a forward thinker, someone who is able to see the wider picture in BO, great. I'm sure that if you hadn't responded so quickly the flak would have come think and fast. Perhaps some other decision could be reviewed just as quick!!

Whitbarrow
Class / course changes must be acceptable. It's an FCC event, so if not some who are M20 next year will find themselves scoring M18 points, some who will be M18s won't have entered because they did not think it worth travelling as an M16 and some M21s will be scoring FCC M20 points. Once you allow those who will now be M18s to enter what about their parents/drivers; are they to be prevented from running ?
What about those who could not make the original date but can make the date next year ?
What happens to those who requested a refund ? Can they re-enter ?

Peter Guillaume has said that an update on the situation will be made available by the Fixtures Group in 7-10 dyas from 24th Nov; it's been 6.
So why not wait for the announcement, read it, think about it and then, if there are still any problems, voice your concern.....

Re: Whitbarrow Nat Event (and UK Cup)
or even read the original post in which the questions from King Penguin and RS are explicitly answered, a mere week before they got round to asking them.
