JOK is very pleased to announce that the 2006 JOK Chasing Sprint has been
rearranged for Saturday 22nd April at the same venue of Bishop Woods,
allowing people to enjoy a weekend of racing alongside the already
scheduled LOC Regional Event at Graythwaite on Sunday 23rd April.
Full details on refund policy for people unable to make the revised date
will be on the JOK website very soon. The entry system on the JOK website
will also reopen to allow others to enter for the first time. Please note
the closing date for the LOC event on the Sunday is 31st March.
The Chasing Sprint will retain its UK Cup and Future Champions Cup status,
and any further information on this will be confirmed via the JOK website.
There was already a club coaching day scheduled for Bishop Woods on
Saturday 22nd April and it is intended that this will still proceed, in
parallel with the prologue stage of the sprint. The organisers would
like to thank LOC and BOF (in particular Carol McNeil, Derek Allison and
Peter Guillaume) for allowing this and for their overall flexibility and
assistance in allowing the event to be rescheduled so soon.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the new date - we
hope you can make it!"

As club coach of NOC I've just sent off the form for the BOF Club Coaching Day.
Will I be able to fit in the JOK Sprint as well (which I'd already entered from before)and if so, should I get my prologue start time changed?
I presume either first or last start in the prologue would make most sense.
Cheers in advance for any advice you (Graeme, Jon X) may have.
If I have to not run JOK in order to do Club coaching then so be it.
I just have the feeling that several of the people I'm meant to be coaching will go:
"Ooh, JOK Sprint! Let's do that instead!"
and I'll be left with no-one to coach!!!
Will the Graythwaite regional replace the Whitbarrow event in the UK Cup etc, like Neil suggested?

Will there be a time constraint on reclaiming entry?
Reason is youngest already has double committments on that date, but if he really needed to run for FCC points, he might be able to change. Obviously he would not know this until after the JK and the points have been sorted.

How can it maintain it's FCC status when it says quite clearly on the website that invitations will be given out at the JK relays on April 17th!
We made strenuous efforts to make sure that Neville could get to all the FCC races to maximise his chances of points and knowing we would be safe after the JK have a MADO event on April 22nd. It also says that if 2 events are cancelled then best 3 of 6 will count - how can you just change the rules at the drop of a hat.
Cancelling events is unavoidable but you can't start messing around with the stated set up of the contest - people won't know until the very last minute if they need to travel to the final.
I'm bloody furious

Second that. Those with Saturday jobs (like mine) have had to book holidays in advance - theres only so much time the employers are willing to give off and with the British, JK and now JOK in the same month job security is looking a little dodgy.

…sorry folks but we're delighted. Spare a thought for those who live in the north - the real north. Whilst I appreciate the final is up our way that’s not much good if you don't qualify.
Without this rescheduling we'd be left with 3 races from 6 where every single race of the 6 is at least a 600 mile round trip and only two within 900!
Plenty of Scots chose to miss the first three races because the distances were so large and because they were so early in the season - their decision to risk it I know. However without another option we would now be left with JK 1 & 2 and the British, and the latter is where? Near Southampton.
Whilst I understand your issues give us a break.
Grateful thanks for all those who managed to come up with this solution.

Can I suggest you read the announcement on the JOK site http://www.jok.org.uk as it answers many of the questions.
I know that JOK are trying to get final details of refund confirmed as soon as possible.

But how can it be fair for the kids who've been selected for the World Schools.
and also the closing date for the FCC final events is the 22nd April - Ok for the competitiors themselves I expect but what about their families? By the time the invitations are issued the CD will have passed. and then there will be travelling arrangement to be made at short notice to the final.
this isn't very well thought out is it?
It may be lucky for the Scottish contingent but it's the luck of the draw - the Welsh event could have been cancelled and that would have slewed the balance to the north.

Have read web site it doesn't answer my question about latest date for claiming any refund. Also it means it's pretty late to arrange entries flights and accomodation for FCC final.
Also I presume any JOK sprint competitors will not be able to take part in BOF training as that gives access to the forest in the morning. This would definitely not be fair as competitors don't have access to forests before other FCC/UK Cup races. I'm absolutely certain access to forest immediately prior to an event is definitely giving competitors an advantage over those who are unable to go to a rescheduled event.

What they should do then is allow all those qualified at the original date to travel to the final & if any changes take place after the new JOK sprint then the extra people can be invited. OK... might be more in the final than planned but can't be more than a handful.... everyone wins... even the SOA with extra entries:)

So with JOK back on will it be best 3 or best 4 out of 7.
Good point about the closing date for Oban. I've pre-booked accommodation and made travel arrangements already as I was willing to lose the deposits if we did not go. I am concerned that I now also stand to lose entry fees. Can the closing date be altered to reflect the delay to the JOK bearing in mind many have already lost money due to prior bookings for last weekends cancelled events.
How and when will FCC finalists be notified?
