Thats really impressive as they don't seem to appear on the JEC site yet. Anyone know if the age classes do the same course, cos Duncan's time looks compatible to the M20's.
Great results. We're obviously a Nation of Sprinters
Lets hope they can build on it tomorrow.

I've often wondered about this, particularly at junior level. Every time I've been abroad on tours/competitions, the juniors from Eastern Europe/Scandinavia have appeared physically more mature, particularly at M/W18-20. I've also read somewhere in the dim and distant past that British youngsters do mature later. Also - a lot of our orienteering terrain lends itself to more sprint/middle distance style orienteering, even if there isn't much in the way of sprint or middle distance racing (shame!) in this country.
Whatever the reason (and still doesn't explain the fact that all our World Champs individual medals are at Sprint/Medium), we do seem to do better over the shorter distances!

Yes - realised as soon as I had sent that had said '"all" and should have said "almost all", but because hadn't logged in, couldn't edit. Thought it might be you to spot it Gross!
Whatever - Scott and Oleg are having a brilliant JEC. Great results!

I've heard from Austria that the relays were technical and exciting with Scott only 800m to go on last leg and 3rd position in sight.

anyone know what feature control 1 on yesterday's W18 course was on? is there something I can't see under the green screen, or was it just on the edge of a patch of brambles/bracken?
Also wondering what decides some of the Scandinavian countries not to send teams to this? Does it clash with something else, or do they think there's too many international fixtures for the 18s and 20s?
