No doubt if there are problems they will soon become the focus of a very long thread on here which will not only identify the problem but also provide numerous alternative ways of fixing it.

Given that rankings are only for interest, why not introduce an event type filter, that way if you have a 'problem' you can exclude whichever type of events you don't like.

I'd be interested to see how my position would change on a 'classic' only list.

By 'problems' does that mean people who can navigate, but can't run, scoring more points than they usually do in day events

It only really works if the sprint/urban specialists are forced to run night events to give the rest of us a chance to score some points.

I'd second that. I guess though it wouldn't be feasible to base each events point calculations on event type as they are dependent on points earned by individuals in previous races. You could use a filter on the total scores more easily.

Yes I was thinking of a simple filter that showed total scores for event types (or combination of event types). The event scores would still be based on all eligable results.

That would be good, and presumably pretty easy to do, depending on that information is currently on the database, so you could filter by classic, sprint, urban etc.

Unfortunately he had to stop updating it in April, as a result of BOF introducing the policy of "let's recalculate all previous results based on what happened yesterday" as a fudge to "fix" the erosion of points problem.
I have said many times that it cannot be sensible to change the points one earned from an event 12 months ago based on performances one week ago.

BOF have all the data to make available a simple display of all events and points scores for an individual, but do not seem to have the will to do so.
