It's another sunny day in France, and the forecast is for 34C in Chambery (so a bit less on top of the massif).

In the Mens' race FRA are clearly favourites, and surely Thierry can't find another way not to anchor the team to gold? After that SUI, NOR and SWE all look good, and GBR could get on the podium with three good runs.

In the Womens' I'd guess SWE will continue their medal haul, but it'll be close with the other Scandinavian nations all looking for medals, and RUS, SUI and CZE in their too. FRA on home terrain might get on the podium, and it would be great to see the GBR women improve on their 8th place last year.

I'm a bit disappointed by the absence of GPS tracking on blanked-out maps this year.

The TV feed currently appears to be focussing on attractive girls in the assembly field

Yeh, i'd imagine they use non-blanked out ones for the mens, we can hope!

I can understand blanked out maps, I'm just a bit confused about why we don't have live online GPS when it's been possible at the relay for the last few years.

There's a pack of 8 gone out within 75secs on the last leg, but GBR is about 15min back on them.

Agree, I've got loads of post holiday jobs to do but am glued to the computer. Nice to see the elites can leave a control on totally the wrong bearing as well. I presume there was alot of "she's going that way so it must be that way" thinking going on. Good to have English commentary.
