Rach finished in 56, and her first radio time is now 3rd of 16 tthrough, so that looks like a good run.


... but Helen is 8 mins down at radio 1, in 14th of 19, so that's not looking so good.

Hector's leading his heat with 5 runners through the first radio, on pace for a time 7mins off the overall winning time for the heat. Thats great running off an early start, lets hope he keeps it up

Helen must be breathing a sigh of relief after lying 22nd at the 1st radio control, but came good in the end. Well done, tough pulling it back from a shaky start.

All the GB men finished, too close to predict who qualifies.

Doug 10th and Oli 10th both qualify, but unfortunately Hector in 17th doesn't.

Coming in just after it was finished I was glad of World of O as the official site had gone off air and no results whatsoever for quite a long time.

Looking at the splits our runners were excellent. The long leg in the mens seems pretty crucial - Hector and Doug appear not to have taken the best route, whereas Ollie cracked it.

Doug's overall run was stunning - losing 3 1/2 minutes on the long leg and qualifying with nearly 7 minutes to spare. Ollie made a big mistake at 14, but otherwise was running really close throughout.

Clare and Rachel were both really consistent.

These are surely the best long qulification results in any WOC to date.

Let's hope they can all maintain their level in the final.

Looks like Oli was running very well but made a big mistake on the slope near the end. The French guys look unbeatable though!

The womens course looked a bit disappointing with half of it in the open and the route choices looked a bit obvious to me unless I was missing something.

North every time.
Even though you might guess that it's a common control and you'll get some help, finding the flags is key here, and there a nice path leading from the head of the big valley into the control.

Excellent runs by the team, notably cleaner than other countries though Hector seems to have played it a bit too safe (as Scotia did a few years back). It doesn't look anything like as hard as some of the training areas, and I'd never have guessed that any of the team would go out with only a couple of minutes of errors, so unlucky.
