Kitch you weren't there and your comment shows that, what about the Swiss, French, Russian Estonian and Latvian teams? We have always been about the 5th-7th best team at WUOC on paper and previously we have all had safe runs and other teams have messed up allowing us to take medals. I don't think sending a runner out on a leg they are not comfortable running would have got us a better result and Rachael was everyone's first choice for the last leg.

Yes that's really important for anyone wanting to run relays internationally or the big Scandi relays. I've run a lot of first and last legs in the past but I've started running middle legs more regularly in recent years and feel that's where I run strongest and am most comfortable. But sport is not about being comfortable and I'm going to try to get more experience at least on 1st leg again to help me fit into a WOC relay team in the future (and give our WING line up more flexibility). I don't really see myself as a last leg runner, I think that's a different personality type, you need some kind of ego / natural born killer type for the last leg! Like at WOC Russia needed a Khramov not a Novikov to have any chance against Jamie

ha ha based on some of your recent posts on nopesport I'd say you'd be a pretty good last leg runner using your criteria
