Forecast for the weekend is good, hot and dry to be precise. Far too hot for catching up on all those gardening/DIY jobs you have neglected due to the JK, BOC, Nationals etc.
What you need is to get out to a cool green shady forest for a nice run, Macc Forest nearly always catches a breeze. Updated map.
Wilfs will be present and the Forest Centre Cafe have been warned to stock up on ice cream.
EOD is available for all courses.
And following Twin Peak tradition there is a quiz, this year a combination of control descriptions and cryptic clues, I think I have one answer so far, see http://www.mdoc.org.uk.

Re: Twin Peak 2008
Hope everyone enjoyed today in the forest.
Many comments that it is MUCH more runnable than at previous events, I don't mean the gradient, nothing will change that, I mean the conditions underfoot. Forest floor is much clearer than before.
EOD available for ALL courses tomorrow, shuttle service from parking to assembly. Unfortunately we do not offer a shuttle service to the start which at least one person asked for today.
Stuff the DIY and get yourselves out there!
And Wilfs get awarded with a prize from the vegetarian society tomorrow, another reason to come along.

STRING COURSE CRISIS
An insider in MDOC has just revealed to the press that a high number of parents have reported serious incidents have been caused upon their children while running the string course at the recent Twin Peaks Competition.
A group of mums and dads have joined togethor and plan to take MDOC to court in the near future claiming that the String Course was far from safe for their little munchkins.
St. John's ambulance had to work around the clock providing aid for the seriously wounded treating things such as nettle stings, bramble cuts and also a boy broke several bones after falling down a 50ft dam when he 'strayed from the string'. From the safety of a hospital bed the boy begs never to go on another MDOC string course again: "I only wanted to beat my brother's time of 1 minute and 54 seconds". Sadly I doubt young timmy will ever have the chance again to compete in another string course again.
A member of rival club DEE had this to say: "I always knew MDOC was a bad club, only in it for the money. But I feel they have gone one step to far."
No-one knows who is really to blame for this but a rumour is that a criminal mastermind is behind this evil plot to overthrow string courses forever.
Thankyou and goodnight.

Good quiz - give my thanks to Dan and Karen (assuming they still devise it). I've got most of them, eventually. Still stuck on 2, 10, 24 and 25.

And why isn't the string course on RouteGadget?

For every winner, there are dozens of losers. Odds are you're one of them.
