ntrees has one very nice feature that enables you to take late late entries on-line: once you've sent the order to the printer, you can set the number of maps available on each course. The system will then take entries up to that limit, and no more.
This is much better than either last-minute phone or e-mail hassle for the entries secretary, or the pressures of EOD. Close the entries only when you're about to make the final download to the event laptops -- maybe Saturday lunchtime for a Sunday event? And don't forget to offer pre-entry for the colour-coded courses, because that too will reduce the effort needed on race-day.
