He didn't say where you to study? Not everything revolves around Uni you know, although my eldest did do psycho at Exeter, the younger one certainly won't, much to good a sportsman for that.
Anyway, on the original subject of the question, EMIT & Si did anyone notice in the latest IOF minutes that they are considering licencing electronic timing systems as a means of raising money for the IOF. That was in the same minutes where they agreed to charge over €50K to any country wanting to host a WOC. All that means is the costs will just fall on the end user, the humble orienteer.
