there's a fair number of wild pigs around in the forests out this way - I fairly regularly meet them (mainly young 'uns, although there have been some big ones I've never managed to work out whether they have (big) tusks). I tend to just stop and let them finish what they're doing, which is usually running away at high speed. I have managed to almost step on them though - I'm not sure who was more surprised. I've not seen any for a while though (probably not training enough!), although the signs of where they've been in the forest are usually unmistakeable.
