Jon,
Send me an email to remind me & I'll send you some... definately have Egil's and Jaraslov's (PWT - Czech Team) also got lissa V's. If I dig out the results book & see who ran I'll get some more. Have you tried Carol McNeil?

WOC 1976
There are reports and pictures in the October 1976 edition of The Orienteer. I remember that Liisa Veijalainen gave her excuse in finishing 2nd (20secs down)on her leg in the relays because she was 3 months pregnant. That was also her excuse in winning the individual title ('I had to take it carefully') But what ever happended to the Hungarian tank mechanic Sarolta Monspart?

She had to give up competitive sport in 1978 due to a tickborne viral encephalitis infection. She went on to manage the Hungarian team and be vice president of IOF.

You could have managed a few quotations if you had gone to the Tim Watkins Blodslitet. Egil Johansen ran, Carol McNeil was the controller and Mike Down was busy guarding controls.
Can let you have contact info if you still need it
