Shuoc won the A class last year, but aren't competing this year. EUOC need 3rd or better to secure the Relay League. SYO have been 3rd for the last 2 years.

I think SYO's strength in depth will stand them in good stead, and reckon a slightly weakened Edinburgh Uni team will get 2nd. After that, not too sure, a lot depends on whether clubs are able to get full strength teams together. I think there's quite a few teams who could get the Sutton Park trophy (not in top 3 in previous 5 years) - AIRE, CLOK, CLYDE, FVO, NOC, and SROC could all get it. Can't really tell who's got a Women's team from the entry list, so not sure about that. Looking forward to the weekend, see everyone in Scotland.

Very enjoyable event apart from the midges I'm sure the Tullie family are now going to have a well earned rest particularly Jethro who was very busy. Despite the good numbers it's a shame a few more didn't venture out. It's not just an elite event, we entered three teams all on the B race and only one in with the slightest chance, and our womens team was always a little shaky but went for EVO in a big way, However it's the taking part that counts and all had good comments if not good times, due to circumstances poor Iffititches ended up in the dark after reluctantly volunteering to do dusk to allow us to have a team, and little Sammy keen to run at night had to beg for an early mini mass start to see some of the orienteering in the dark.

We all got through but found the courses with their physical element on the long side for less experienced 'lady' orienteers. Not a complaint more I hope a constructive comment for planners in future if they wish to encourage greater female participation.

Piping of 1st leg runners a nice touch was a bit concerned that the lady piper might lose her balance down that bank. Cakes scrummy too. Mrs T possibly had a hand in these.( Not literally)

The area was very runnable even for me an inexperienced and over cautious night orienteer.

Congrats to all the successful teams I believe from all different clubs. Finally thanks for my send off from the field

Just looked at the results and found that we didn't manage last on every one of our gaffles and I was third from last perhaps I'll try night O again some time. Jethro when are you planning the next night O in your garden? I'll book it in my diary unless it's in the depths of winter.

Thought the harvester was a really good event on an interesting area. Thought the area was really suited to night orienteering with the reduced visability removing many obvious hilltops/features/ etc from view. Would be a great area to hold the British Nights.

Must agree it was a top event, and both relay's were much closer than they have been at certain Harvesters (although SYO's mens team were pretty awesome). The technical challenge at night was really good, having opted out of doing the event today i wonder how much easier it would have been at night, particularly on the longer legs. Was good to see that the reflectors on the controls weren't the shining beacons i was worried they'd be, that takes away the challenge if you can see them from miles away - i think the careful positioning of the controls helped in this. Many thanks to the planners, organiser and controller, and all involved with the event, really enjoyed it after a 2 month break from orienteering.

great to see the Harvester tradition continue, and on such a good area and with fantastic welcoming feel and organisation; well worth breaking my fast of 31 years without a night leg in a night event for. ( I have very poor night vision and in the previous one ended up to my neck in water in an "uncrossable" ditch somewhere in a forest near Stockholm!)
