Does anyone know much about the area? - is it worth travelling from afar?
The website says it is very attractive orienteering terrain requiring skill and speed, although it is not as detailed as Penhale or Braunton Burrows.
That sounds like it might be pretty good - although I'm surprised in that case that it hasn't been used before, and that it isn't being higher billed.
Plus does anyone know how big the area is, given that the same area is being used for all 3 days.
Am not currently planning to go, so sell it to me!

Come along!
You have three different planners, three different styles of event and three different areas of the forest.
The forest is very mixed in character: coniferous, deciduous, old features and new ones making for a very varied and enjoyable three days of running. The forest areas are fast, with little in the way of ground cover in your way, but watch out for the earthbanks - a little larger than most people are used to!
The roads to the event are good, no weaving around the labyrinth of Devon country lanes to get there, and at a little less than an hour from the end of the M5 it's very accessible. It's rare for an area of this size to have been overlooked for so long, so come and enjoy a totally new experience.
Lots of effort has been put into preparing three good days of orienteering for you and we hope to see you there.
