As you will have seen from the AGM papers, both Lyn West (Vice-Chairman elect) and Becky Carlyle are demitting office. We (all of us) need two lively and committed Councillors to join Chris James and myself – and it would be good if you weren’t Senior Railcard holders!

Heya guys,

I'm not standing again as the time commitment to get to the meetings down south from Edinburgh is nigh on impossible with me starting a full time PhD there in September. i'm still going to be available for consultation and working on various groups, but I don't have the time (or the energy!) frankly to get to all these meetings from so far north. i'm also going to be living in Sweden from April until then, so the commute is even more difficult.

It's been a fascinating year working with BOF and with the new year the working climate has changed vastly. I strongly encourage someone who's more central (Sheffield/Nottingham would do nicely!) to get involved to take over from me - having someone our age about is invaluable if we want to get heard!

If anyone has any questions they'd like to ask me before considering standing feel free to contact me.

Lyn doesn't post on here so just thought I'd clarify the position. She isn't standing again for Councillor, hence there are two spaces open (hers and Becky's). She is, however, standing for Vice-Chairman.
