World Champs 2022

Re: World Champs 2022
Looked like the planners played it safe for the qualifiers - some detail around the controls, but I didn't spot any significant route choice legs. Only big upset was the reigning mens champion Isac von Krusenstierna 2 seconds off qualifying, and of course Nathan will be disappointed not to make it through missing out by just 13 seconds.
To oblivion and beyond....

Word from the field is that both Isac and Emil Svensk are both really struggling with injuries so in fact not that surprising.
Laura Robertson (SYO) following her brother's lead from Tuesday and taking the final qualifying spot in heat C after her passport and visa only arrived in the post yesterday morning.

Re: World Champs 2022
Anyone know why Men's A heat had a mandatory run through an OOB area which none of the other courses had.
Seems a touch odd.

Re: World Champs 2022
The only thing I can think of is they created an unmapped route through the building to number 14 to prevent runners going into and out of the courtyard through the same passageway. Do you know where the marked run is?

Seems strange that they weren't replaced given the strength in depth of the team.
Emil ran well to win Jukola - perhaps doing too much.

This is the third WOC race where the person updating the IOF Live webpage hasn't posted a link to live results, or has initially posted an incorrect link. Something that surely the WOC 2024 team can do better
If it helps, here are all the live results at WOC 2022. https://r.emit.live/index.php?lang=en&

They are running on personal places as reigning World and European Champions, no-one else can take their slot.
Why did I do that...

Maybe not. A mixture of simple looking and tricky choises.

Think I might go somewhere near 13, looks an easier one to run.

Re: World Champs 2022
I think one of the favourites, Tim Robertson, just ran down the wrong passageway on the way to 2.
Great run by Ralph, must be a top 10?
