Northern Champs

I see the Northern Champs have lost permissions for Simonside at the last minute, but undeterred the organisers are hoping to move the race to Dukeshouse Woods near Hexham. Huge respect for not postponing and very best of luck with getting the event sorted in record time.

Good news for the juniors going for GB team and squad selections is that one of the six selection races is actually going to be in a forest! Hopefully they won't have done too much targeted preparation and forgotten what a tree looks like!

I have no inside knowledge, but I do know that the woods at Simonside were obliterated by the storms a little while back. So that may have influenced things.

Dukeshouse Woods is a good area too. Surprisingly varied.

I had decided Simonside was too far for a day trip, but Hexham is closer so I have now entered.
