Entries remain open for the Welsh Championships weekend in just over a week's time and, although this may not be clear in the information, will close at 21:00 on Thursday 3rd March.
The organiser has asked me to add that "late entries are subject to map availability. Pre-enter ASAP to avoid disappointment."
Day 1 on Saturday the 5th will be a Middle race to be held on Pwll Du, one of the most technical terrains in Southern Britain and as used for the JK Relays in 2014.
Day 2 on Sunday the 6th sees the Long Championships held on the iconic Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny and a "brand new area never been used for orienteering before. Wooded valleys and spurs on the Southern flank of Sugar Loaf mountain. Delightful runnable woodland with very little undergrowth, but steep slopes along with some areas of open moor land with dead bracken. Areas of contour detail provided by former mine and quarry workings."

Re: Welsh Champs
It turned out to be a brilliant weekend although, with snow on the ground on Saturday morning, the omens did not look promising.
However, the snow disappeared and even the sun came out and SWOC laid on two hugely contrasting days, both in wonderful, runnable terrain and with good courses planned on first class maps.
Yesterday was a revelation as the Sugar Loaf terrain really did consist of "delightful runnable woodland with very little undergrowth". The "never before used for orienteering" tag did not this time have a "for very good reasons" sub-text!
Those not there missed a treat.
