Second point - if Bostrom wants to develop a technique that gets him disqualified regularly, thats his choice (like I mentioned in a previous post - there are ways of guaranteeing an Emit card registers and touching quickly on to the forest unit isn't one of the more reliable ones).
Third point - a couple of small bits of tape can hold on the Emit back-up card very nicely - I've never lost one despite plenty of runs in wet conditions.
Fourth point the Scottish Champs in 2012 had 730+ runners, so is our biggest ever event - and it used ..............wait for it.................Emit
