With all those stories coming out in the media yesterday about map reading becoming a dying art, we have an opportunity made in heaven to market orienteering.
In three month's time, we have a World Championships and a set of spectator races that have already attracted 4,394 entries. I am told that we haven't attracted a single major sponsor.
Could Nopesport readers get their thinking caps on and make hints to any companies within their sphere of influence. If I were a businessman I would be sensing an opportunity to gain some brownie points for my company here.
This would be a good soapbox for Craig Anthony and the gang at BO to climb on to next week.

Something wrong with the UK mentality..... this must be the first WOC since the last time in was in UK (1999) not to attract a major sponsor.
Though BOF were paying someone to sort this kind of thing out.... maybe his / her salary would be better used going to WOC

Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)
